Morning Wildlife Safari

The morning is a great time for bird watching, wildlife viewing, and exploring around Banff. On this tour you will sightsee to known wildlife and bird viewing areas and then enjoy the outdoors on short nature walks. Your guide will be equipped with props to help explain animal behaviour and a spotting scope to bring the views in closer. Follow your guide while you visit local areas, walk outdoors, feel the fresh air, and take photos of this majestic landscape. Each tour will be different as many locations are available to choose from depending on the season and wildlife activity.

A number of routes and locations are options for this tour, depending on wildlife activity, seasonal weather, and trail availability. You will visit at least two of the areas below:

Cave & Basin Boardwalk
Wetland habitat, birds of prey, animal underpasses.

Mount Norquay
Montane habitat, avalanche slope, great views for photos.

Bankhead
Monane valley, historical buildings, reclamation, changing views of National Parks.

Johnson Lake
Wetand, wildlife corridor and protected Fairholme Bench, animal underpass.

Cascade Mountain
Wildlife corridor, controversy, human use in National Parks.

Mule Shoe
River ecology, wetland, vehicle and railway impact.

Evening Wildlife Safari

Discover the challenges of protecting animals and their habitat in Banff National Park. On this evening journey travel through a variety of landscapes and learn about wildlife, their needs, and their inter-relationships. Leave the Safari with a greater understanding of the land, and animals that we see on 95% of our tours.

Travelling the outlying areas around Banff townsite you will visit some of the quiter roads of the area learning about wildlife and habitat. Each tour is different and visits different locations depending on our success from previous days.

Stops include:

Norquay viewpoint
This stop provides a fantastic view of the Bow and Spray Valleys and illustrates the concept of wildlife corridors. It is also fantastic opportunity for photographs.

Another location
Depending on the groups success, their may be time for an alternate stop, this will be unscheduled and up to the discretion of the guide.
